Dita Von Teese Classics for an Awesome Beauty

Dita Von Teese is one, if not the only, celebrity on Hollywood who goes for a glamorous classic look even with makeup. As such, she really stands out from the rest and you can immediately tell her apart from other stars. Perhaps there some women out there who want to emulate the way she looks. Achieving the kind of look she has is not easy. But Dita gives hope to those women through her very own classic makeup collection.

Dita launched her makeup collection called Dita Von Teese Classics in partnership with German-based brand Artdeco. The collection is complete with the materials needed to come up with her glamorously classic look. It has everything needed for the eyes, cheek, lips, face and more!

Are you excited to know what they are and what they’re like?

The Dita Von Teese Classics is composed of four great Blushers: Paramour No. 22, Ingenue No. 9, Starlet No. 31 and Ivresse No. 20.

Dita also provides two kinds of eyeshadows: Eye Shadows Matt and Glamour Eye Shadows. Both kinds have six great colors to suit any occasion.

Her red pout is one of Dita’s trademarks hence she didn’t forget to include amazing lipsticks in her collection. She has six of them namely Muse Red No. 615, Parlez-Vous No. 620, Maitresse No. 628, Bon Bon No. 607, Follies Pink No. 637 and Demoiselle No. 645.

Dita has also come up with stylish false eyelashes! There’s also the Beauty Box Quadro that’s a must-have. Her collection also includes nail polish to make your hands look glamorous.

Great beauty collection isn’t it? It’s quite obvious that Dita thought about it pretty well.  Have you tried any?

Scary Beautiful is The Most Outrageous and Ugliest Shoes Ever!

If you think you’ve already seen the most outrageous shoes, you’re wrong! Nothing can compare to the outrageousness of the pair called “Scary Beautiful!” Not any from the famous designers’ collections come close to this. It’s created by Leanie van der Vyver and Rene van den Berg.

Yes it’s scary but beautiful? I don’t think so. First look and you won’t have any idea how exactly it’s worn. By themselves, the shoes don’t give a clue which one is the front and which one is the back. It’s like something that only an alien would dare wear. What you’ll see are two huge heels that give balance.

Scary Beautiful is obviously not meant for everyday use or for special events either. It’s like something that’s only meant to be displayed and looked at otherwise the wearer would only end up with a broken leg or worse, a broken neck!
Walking in “Scary Beautiful” is impossible. A video shows a model trying to walk in them but I could see it’s quite difficult. She couldn’t even straighten up for heaven’s sake! She was hunched as she walked so slowly across the room. That’s not how a normal person is supposed to walk.

This is really the most outrageous shoes I’ve ever seen! But you know what the most curious thing is? Scary Beautiful shoes were nominated for a design prize at Gerrit Rietveld Academie. And according to Barbara Visser the shoes’ design forces “the wearer to develop a new way of walking.” Indeed because with that awkward design there’s no other way. I fervently hope this doesn’t become a trend.

Scary Beautiful? More like Scary Ugly!

Outrageous Rayfish Sneakers Grown from Stingrays

Have you ever heard of such a thing as growing your footwear? Quite an outrageous idea isn't it? But you know what? A new footwear company called Rayfish Foowear doesn't think so. This company is, I think, the first to let customers "grow" the material needed to make the shoes they want!

Curious isn't it? You see, Rayfish Footwear specializes in making sneakers from the skin of stingrays! They mix and match different variety of stingrays' DNA in order to come up with the desired pattern and color. The process involves manipulating the stingrays' color and pattern genes and they put in a synthetic supergene into fetus stingrays. As complicated the process may sound to us, folks at Rayfisf Footwear have it down to the dot.

I don't think anyone would dare imitate this kind of money-making biz because the technology used by the company is already patented.

Rayfish footwear's methods have also raised questions regarding the ethics of such ways. The company has also been slammed by animal welfare group PETA. But all those don't seem to faze Rayfish footwear. Although the company is not yet doing its regular production, they're already introducing it by means of a design contest where the champs will receive a free pair. Regular production is expected to commence sometime this year and when that happens, a pair will only cost $1,800.

The shoe samples posted in the company's website look fabulous no doubt about it. But considering the process involved in order to make them kind of dampens my enthusiasm. But if it were up to you, would you grow your own outrageous stingray shoes by Rayfish Footwear?

Dita Von Teese Shares Beauty Secrets

Celebrities look great all the time. Sometimes I can't help but wonder, "How do they do it?" It's like they're always blooming 24/7! It's an instances like these that I'd really do whatever in order to know their beauty secrets. I bet you do too right?

But a lot of celebrities' secret lie in the makeup they use and how they apply it. Some makeup are so subtle they look pretty natural. Some celebrities share their beauty and makeup secrets freely but others keep them to themselves. But you know what? It's our lucky day because one celebrity generously shared her makeup secret and that celebrity is none other than renowned burlesque star Dita Von Teese!

Dita recently launched her own makeup line so, rest assured she knows what she's talking about! Are you ready for her makeup tips? Here we go!

1. Alabaster skin is the perfect base for a vintage look. I'd never dream of getting a tan - I always wear sunscreen and put on a hat when I'm out in the sun.
2. Classic red lipstick is the most chic beauty statement a woman can make. Matte lips are like luscious rose petals. Add just a touch of gloss to the center.
3. In the Thirtees and Forties, leaving the half-moon at the bottom of your nail was the epitome of elegance. It has now become modern and chic again.
4. For a dramatic look, I start with a neutral lid, define a line of black shadow in the crease. Finish with a sparkling white on your brow bone and eyelid.
5. I always powder my nose using pressed powder in an exquisite, jewelled compact.
