Today's times are tough and dangerous. Crimes are almost everywhere! And women are the ones who are more at risk of these crimes. When you walk down the street there's a chance that you could get mugged, even during day time! What more when you go out after dusk? But a lot of women today usually go out at night for some socializing so the best thing to do is to arm themselves with well. And I don't mean with a gun or anything like that. Having a pepper spray in your purse would be great. But the weapon I'm hinting at are fashionable ones, very chic. popular and totally outrageous! It's Christian Louboutin shoes, the kind that have spikes!

The spikes shoes are among the most popular footwear by the said designer. And he has several of them so if you're thinking of shoes that you can use for self defense Christian Louboutin is the brand to remember.

The Lady Max 100 Spike-Embellished Metallic Leather Sandals is a very sexy choice. It features spikes in the middle and near the ankle straps. You won't fall in these because it's 4.5-inch heels are quite manageable. Net-A-Porter is selling it for $1.495.
Another super sexy choice that you can have is the J-Lissimo Sandals. This metallic-turquoise sandals are made of high-quality leather with spikes starting from the vamp up to the ankle straps. Just be sure to get a dress that fully complements its amazing color. A pair will cost you $750.

Viola Davis in Lorraine Schwartz Emerald Earrings

The fabulous gowns weren't the only ones to make a huge statement at this year's Oscar Awards. Jewelry and extra bling were great attention-getters as well. The pair of emerald earrings worn by Oscar nominee Viola Davis was one of the stand-out pieces. You know, when I saw it it reminded me of the pair worn by Angelina Jolie at the previous Oscars.

Anyhow, Viola's emerald earrings are by renowned jeweler Lorraine Schwartz. The pair is made of 112-carat faceted Colombian emeralds with lace diamond design. The diamond filigree covering the emeralds made them truly standout. If you look closely you'll see the intricate design it has.

Viola was wearing an emerald green gown by Vera Wang which complemented her Lorraine Schwartz emerald earrings perfectly!!

Now, wouldn't you just love to have this pair of earrings in your jewelry box? You'd probably have to rob a bank because it costs a fortune!

Looking Back on Whitney Houston's Style

Perhaps you already heard the news, the very sad news about Whitney Houston's passing? One of the greatest and most beautiful voices of all time is gone, forever at only 48. Until now, the actual cause of her death is still being investigated and reports have it that it's going to take about six weeks to complete the toxicology tests. Until the true cause of her death is found out, I guess there won't be a closure for fans and especially her family.

Aside from being known for her spectacular voice, Whitney was also renowned for her style! This woman had a great fashion sense. Her style is unique and it works very well for her.

And from what I've seen of her red carpet and performance photos, Whitney loved skirts, long dresses, minis and gowns with glittering sequins! She also loved to go for bold colors like sometimes and she likes white too.

I just comfort myself looking at some of her fabulous photos from the past so if you're feeling kind of lost like me, take some time to look at her fashion photos.
