Miss Universe 2013 Top 10 Fairy Tale Evening Gowns!

The most beautiful person in the universe has been proclaimed last November 9 in Moscow, Russia during the Miss Universe 2013 pageant. This year the honor went to Venezuela representative Gabriella Isler!

The anticipation was high that night and all the ladies really put their best foot forward. But of course there will always be some that will stand out and they made up the Top 10. Included in the Miss Universe 2013 Top 10 were:  Spain, Great Britain, India, Brazil, Philippines, USA, Ukraine, Ecuador, Venezuela, and 

Dominican Republic. 

 All these ten ladies were applauded for their beauty and their grace. The fact that they also wore fairy tale-like evening gowns emphasized it! Miss Great Britain Amy Willerton and  Miss USA Erin Brady wore eye-catching red gowns for the night. But between these two I like Miss Great Britain's sleeveless evening gown better because of its shiny lavender sequins and its spiky bodice detail. It's very classy and princess-like I have to say. Miss USA's evening gown's neckline bodice caps are too low and the deeply-plunging neckline is too daring for this kind of competition. 

Miss Universe Brazil Jakelyne Oliveira and Miss Universe India Manase Moghe both wore fantastic champagne-colored gowns! Their gowns are fit for a princess! Miss India's mermaid-cut gown featured gold sequins all over it while Miss Brazil's gown looked like it was made of fine lace. It also featured sequins, silver this time, and a thigh-high slit.

Miss Philippines Ariella Arida stood out literally like a ray of sunshine in her yellow satin gown. It had a figure-hugging bodice and a balloon skirt. It looked like a ball gown! Just fab! Miss Ecuador Constanza Baes opted for a mint green gown with a thigh-high slit and feather accents on the skirt. 

The rest of the four ladies in the Miss Universe 2013 Top 10 wore white. Of the four I love Miss Dominica Republic's gown most of all. It's very elegant with its sheer panel and disc-like accents. Even with the sheer panel running right in the middle of the gown, it doesn't look indecent. Miss Universe Ukraine Olga Storozhenko's gown comes next. I just love its froth quality, the way the skirt swirled when she walked. The pleated bodice looked awesome as did the neckline made up of crystals and beads. Miss Venezuela Gabriella Isler looked svelte in her figure-hugging shimmery silver gown. It featured long sleeves with cute cutouts extending to the skirt. It's very formal-looking. Last is Miss Spain Patricia Yurena Rodriguez whose gown had crystal-embedded bodice and a balloon tulle skirt. Though her gown is also like the ones in fairy tales the cut and overall design is very common.

Royalties Know How to Hat It!

It’s been 60 years since Queen Elizabeth was crowned. And to celebrate her coronation, the royal family headed to the Westminster Abbey. All of the ladies had one thing in common: hats. From the Queen herself to the princesses and even to the other aristocratic women, all of them had some kind of head gear. I don’t think you can call all of them as hats.

Don’t get me wrong, there were some very stylish hats too and one of them was worn by the Duchess of Cambridge Kate Middleton. Hers was a cocktail hat by Jane Taylor. Does it seem familiar? It should because she also wore it to the Queen’s Jubilee celebration last year.

Autumn Phillips’ cream-colored hat with two big roses embellishment looked great too. Even the Queen’s tilted hat with its powder blue flower adornment was an eye-catcher.

The Countess of Wessex also wore a Jane Taylor hat with a wide brim design. It had a huge ribbon detailing on top. Princess Beatrice’s feather-trimmed hat by Sarah Cant looked wonderful as well.

Only special occasions like this do we see such great hats. I wish there would be more events where we’d see more of them!

Miss Universe Top 10 Fab Evening Gowns!

I know it's kind of late but until now I'm still amazed by the evening gowns worn by the Top 10 Miss Universe candidates during the Miss Universe Pageant held last December 2012. The evening gowns were fantastic and the fact that all the Top 10 candidates have slim and proportioned bodies made them look even more wonderful!

The candidates included in the Miss Universe Top 10 were Mexico, Philippines, Australia, Brazil, Russia, Venezuela, France, Hungary, USA and South Africa.

Miss Mexico's one-shoulder evening gown was a bold red color featuring a thigh-high slit. Miss U.S.A. is the other contestant who opted for a red gown. But hers was a voluminous one. It looked like she was going to a ball. Miss Philippines donned a strapless baby blue gown  featuring a pleated skirt. It had some silver embellishment on the bodice and neckline.

Miss Australia, Miss France and Miss Hungary all opted for off-white gowns. Miss Hungary's had a ruffled skirt with a slit while Miss Australia's had a long train. Miss France's gown must have taken a long time to make because of the sequins adorning the bodice and down the skirt.

Miss South Africa and Miss Brazil both wore gold gowns with fabulous bead work.Miss Russia opted for a gown with royal blue skirt and a top embellished with blue gems. Her skirt also features pleats much like the ones in Miss Philippines' gown. Miss Venezuela chose a relaxing green color for her gown. You can really see the fine detail on the neckline, waist and skirt. She looked fantabulous! All of them did!

The Scandalous VHS Tape Dress

Tape dress. Have you ever seen one? I actually haven't until I saw what Micaela Schaefer wore at the "Men In Black III" premiere! Micaela wasn't a part of the cast but she just showed up at the venue in Germany and shocking everyone in the process.

You can hardly call it a dress because the outfit is only composed of strips of VHS tape, as in the tape itself, that barely cover her vital parts! She's obviously bra-less because you can see her nipples peeking through the strips of tape. it's not even just side boob anymore but the whole breasts on display! It's scandalous! But for sure the lecherous men in the venue enjoyed her red carpet show.

Mary Katrantzou's Pheasant Dress is the Latest Craze!

Hey girlies do you know there's one floral dress that lots of celebrities are going gaga over? Yup! Even if you're not that into floral prints this dress will make you love it! I'm talking about the Mary Katrantzou Pheasant floral bubble dress! The cut, the lines are so awesome that the dress would work on anyone.

The dress if so full of vivid floral prints and art swirls that just work! Even the color combinations look perfect! Red is the dominant color in the upper portion, blue in the middle and white at the bottom but they really blend in well together.

Looking Back on Whitney Houston's Style

Perhaps you already heard the news, the very sad news about Whitney Houston's passing? One of the greatest and most beautiful voices of all time is gone, forever at only 48. Until now, the actual cause of her death is still being investigated and reports have it that it's going to take about six weeks to complete the toxicology tests. Until the true cause of her death is found out, I guess there won't be a closure for fans and especially her family.

Aside from being known for her spectacular voice, Whitney was also renowned for her style! This woman had a great fashion sense. Her style is unique and it works very well for her.

And from what I've seen of her red carpet and performance photos, Whitney loved skirts, long dresses, minis and gowns with glittering sequins! She also loved to go for bold colors like sometimes and she likes white too.

I just comfort myself looking at some of her fabulous photos from the past so if you're feeling kind of lost like me, take some time to look at her fashion photos.

Fashion in Concerts!

Concerts, who doesn't like them? Going to concerts is one of the perfect opportunities to dress up and be fashionable! No matter what the venue is, it will always be choice whether to go for a punk look or elegant look. Well, you can even mix both if you want. Kirsten Dunst Goes for Dramatic Look in Honor Dress

One of the events that you have to watch out for if you want to see some fabulous dresses are movie premieres! This is one of those times that celebrities really dress up and take fashion up to the nines. Sometimes it doesn't have to be all couture creation in order to b classy; even those with simple cuts are the ones that get noticed just like the dress worn by Kirsten Dunst at the premiere of her new movie Melancholia.

Kirsten sashayed on the red carpet at Curzon Mayfair in London, England. Her outfit came straight from the Spring 2012 Honor Collection by Giovanna Randall. It featured a paisley print bustier with a ruffled neckline. For her feet she chose a pair of navy Nicholas Kirkwood pumps.

I like this outfit very much! The silhouette has a sort of dramatic effect that I'm so into. I figured The Spring 2012 Honor Collection has something more to offer and voila! It's made up of fabulous pieces! You just have to check them out!

Something worth talking about happened at the Paris Fashion Show last week. That is, aside from the great dresses and fashion put on display on the runway. You see, benches started breaking at the Balenciaga Spring 2012 show last Thursday. And there were guests seated when that happened!

That must have been a picture-perfect moment for some of the VIPs Kate Lanphear and Eric Wilson who ended with their bum on the floor! For fear they'd end up with the same fate, other VIPs simply decided to stand throughout the show! Soome of these VIPs were Anna Wintour, Hamish Bowles, Salma Hayek and hubby Francois Henry Pinault.

Hailee Steinfeld for Miu Miu

Hailee Steinfeld is the chosen one to be the face of Miu Miu's Autumn/Winter 2011 collection. The ad campaign has made a debut and here we see Hailee in a classical style.

The ad was shot by Bruce Weber showcases Hailee in a train track, standing by a No Trespassing sign and lying sedately on a bed of lush green grass.

Hailee feels so lucky to be working with Miu Miu. She said, "I had such an amazing experience working with the Miu Miu team on this new campaign. It’s so much fun to have the chance to work with such a gifted designer and wear these incredible clothes. I feel so lucky to be a part of it."

The 2011 Kids' Choice Awards was concluded over the weekend. Aside from the great awards, the event was also a showcase of chic style and fashion! Celebrities, young and mature, put their best foot forward to ensure they shine on the red carpet rather the orange carpet.

When i looked at the orange carpet photos, the outfits that I liked best were those of Miley Cyrus, Selena Gomez, Victoria Justice, and Paris Hilton. They were all very chic!

Ann Taylor, one of the brands for women has found a new spokesmodel in Katie Holmes. Starting in March, the new new ad campaign will start rolling out. So if you got used to seeing Heidi Klum in previous Ann Taylor ads, better start outgrowing that now.

A preview of the campaign has been revealed and it shows her wearing blue pantsuit and staring with a sultry expression to the camera. More will be coming your way soon.

Emilio Pucci: Abstracted!

I love dresses, especially those with abstract patterns. I know one designer who specializes in the kind of patterns I like. This designer is no other than Emilio Pucci. While browsing his site, one dress particularly caught my attention - the Jersey Mini Dress.

I just feel that it's the perfect piece with its quarter sleeves and high, round neckline, whether you're going to attend a formal or casual event. Its combined peach, green, and white patterns make it great!
